It is possible to reproduce crashes reported by users. Under load, this noise comes from area of the turbocharger. Tolerance between shaft and sleeve in bypass valve connection area. Because of this tolerance, bypass valve linkage will vibrate over a certain range of speeds. This vibration can cause a rattling sound in bypass valve linkage.

In event of above failure, follow instructions below to install circlip specified in original parts catalog on bypass valve linkage.
1) As shown in picture, install clamp.
2) Press retainer (arrow 1) against turbine casing. For ease of installation, lever and bypass valve retainer must be aligned. Then slide clip until it stops on bypass valve lever (arrow 2).
3) Pay attention to correct position of clamp after installation. Check with a mirror if necessary.

You must install circlip without removing parts! CAUTION WHEN INSTALLING Retaining Ring: Do not stretch or bend retaining ring during installation. If retaining ring was overstretched during installation, problem may not be corrected and noise may reappear.
